Community Giving

At Cox, community service is more than just a corporate commitment — it’s a way of life for our employees and a part of our company culture. James Cox, our founder, believed in the value of building and investing in the communities we serve. More than 100 years later, that culture abounds throughout our organization.

We know now, more than ever, there is important work to be done in our community. We know it cannot be done alone. That’s why Cox is proud to partner with hundreds of nonprofit organizations in addressing the critical needs of our community.

We demonstrate what we firmly believe by our focused areas of giving. We concentrate our support in, but are not limited to, the following key areas:

  • Youth – Development through STEM, mentorship, literacy or other educational programs. For program support related to youth education, please visit for information about our annual Cox Charities grant process.
  • Diversity – We support organizations that directly support the many facets of the richly diverse communities we serve. We strongly encourage applications from organizations that meet the needs of our community’s unique and diverse population, including veterans, minorities, women and the LGBTQ community.
  • Civic and Community – We support charitable and community organizations that make a positive difference in the communities we serve.

After your request is received and reviewed, your organization will receive an email response within 30 days. Funding decisions are based on the quality of the applicant programs and their support of Cox’s key areas of focus and funds available. Additional considerations include the scope of each program and the overall impact on the community.
